Bringing your apiary into focus

First, about saved apiaries

Apiary Forecast lets members save their own private apiary locations, and for some beekeepers this will be much more useful than relying only on the nearest preset settlement.

A preset settlement gives you a useful local forecast and forage anchor, a saved apiary can be more accurate. Especially if your apiary isn’t in the centre of town.

But enough about them, we're here for the dashboards

Hive monitor dashboards in one place

If you use an external hive monitor, such as a BroodMinder or BeehiveMonitoring, you can now add their shareable dashboard links to your saved apiaries.

That means you can open your saved apiary and quickly see:

  • the apiaryโ€™s forecast tools;
  • its site type;
  • any notes you have added;
  • optional external hive monitor dashboards.

Itโ€™s a practical way to keep the things you check most often closer together.

How to add one

Log in to Apiary Forecast, then go to:

My Apiaries

From there you can:

  1. Add a private apiary.
  2. Place it on the map. (It wonโ€™t save exact position, just within a few hundred feet)
  3. Choose the most suitable site type.
  4. Add an optional note.
  5. Add optional hive monitor dashboard links.
  6. Save the apiary.

Once saved, your apiary will appear on the My Apiaries page with shortcuts to the rest of the Apiary Forecast tools.

And you may have noticed a Trends link. That’s for saved apiaries.ย
